15 more covid-19 cases confirmed in Kenya bringing total to 411

The number covid-19 cases in Kenya has risen to 411 after 15 more persons test positive for the coronavirus.

The new cases which range from 2-79 years of age are from 1434 samples tested across the country in the last one day.

“We have tested 1434 samples. Out of those 8 females, 7 males have tested positive ranging between 2 and 79 years of age. Confirmed coronavirus cases in Kenya now stands at 411,” said CS Kagwe.

At the same time, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has announced that the number of discharged cases has risen to 150 after 6 more persons tested negative and got discharged from hospital.

The number of fatalities in the country has also risen to 21 after 4 more covid-19 patients succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours.

“Covid-19 death-toll rises to 21 as four more patients succumb to the viral disease,” added the CS.

CS Kagwe noted that the worrying number of confirmed cases in Somalia prompted action from the government, sealing off Mandera county as a measure to stem further infections out of the county.

“Mandera has 8 cases and Wajir 2. The danger here is Somalia. It is a worrying case that’s why we have isolated Mandera,” said CS Kagwe.
