Best KCPE candidates score 453 as Boys outsmart girls in Science and Maths

Two candidates topped in the 2018 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, KCPE, examinations. The Two candidates managed to tie at the top; with the 453 marks. This was announced by the Education Cabinet Secretary, Dr. Amina Mohammed, while releasing the 2018 KCPE results at the Star of the Sea Primary School in Mombasa, today.

While releasing this year’s KCPE exam Dr. Amina noted that there was an improvement in the 2018 KCPE exams performance as compared to that of 2017.

Cs Amina revealed that females performed better than boys in three subjects namely: English, Kiswahili and Kenya Sign Language. The boys were not left behind, either, as they outsmarted the girls in: Mathematics, Sciences, Social Education and Religious Education.

The CS promised that all the 2018 KCPE candidates will get placement in secondary schools in 2019

Special need candidates

The CS furthered added that the top candidate with special need scored 446 marks this year compared to last year’s 426.

Form one 2019 selction

Selection of form one 2019 will kick off next week on Monday. Cs Amina had earlier hinted that students joining form one will be informed their schools before Christmas.

“Form One selection for secondary school placement to start on Monday, there will be no second selection” Said Education CS Amina Mohammed.
