Governor Alfred Mutua Apologises for Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wife Pauline’s Fake Death News

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has apologized for sharing misleading news about the Wiper leader’s wife, Pauline Musyoka.

Mutua had earlier posted on his socials about the death of the Wiper leader’s wife, who had been sick for quite some time.

In another later post, the Machakos governor took back his words, saying that he had been misled by several players, seemingly close to Kalonzo.

“I wish to apologize for the earlier post about the family of H.E Kalonzo Musyoka. This was a result of misinformation and a hoax from several players, some, seemingly credible and close to H.E Kalonzo, who made it seem like a message to me about the family. People can be evil. My sincere apologies for any anxiety caused. Happily, all is well, God bless you,” Mutua stated.

Paloma Gatabaki, Kalonzo Musyoka’s communications lead had earlier, in a statement stated that it was unfortunate that fake news about Pauline Musyoka’s death was being shared on social media.

“It is unfortunate we live in a time when people spend their minutes trying to get the most clicks and not tell the truth.

It is even more unfortunate when senior politicians post messages of condolence on their official social media pages without verification of the source. For one with a purported media background, this lapse in judgement is incredibly thoughtless.”

Pauline Musyoka’s health

Kalonzo had earlier revealed that his wife Pauline was in hospital receiving treatment and was showing signs of improvement.

He also disclosed that their separation, since she had been hospitalized had affected him a great deal as Pauline was a great influence in his political career.

Speaking to Citizen T.V, Kalonzo stated that Pauline was a great mobilizer and he missed her support. He also pointed out that his wife is stable and they are praying for a miracle so that she can be completely healed and come back home.

“Mama is stable and we thank God. We continue to pray for a miracle. She is a mobilizer, I miss that,” he said.

“She knows I must continue fighting; in fighting on, I believe I am also assisting in her recovery,” he added.
