A sigh of relief as Teachers service commission (TSC) plans to promote 1000 P1 teachers to teach secondary schools. This will make a total of 5000 teachers who are set to be employed this August a move that will cushion high deficit of teachers in secondary schools owing to 100 per cent transition.
Basic requirements for P1 teachers to promoted to Secondary schools:
1. Be Kenyan citizens;
2. P1 certificate;
3. Bachelor’s degree in education with 2 teaching subjects;
4. Must have minimum mean grade C+ (Plus) at Kenya certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent and minimum C+ (Plus) in two teaching subjects;
5. Must be employees of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
