Kenya: 74 Test Positive For Covid-19 from Sample of 1,574

Kenya has today on Sunday 31st recorded 74 Covid-19 cases, says Health CAS Dr. Rashid Aman.

The CAS announced that 74 new covid-19 cases have been confirmed in the last 24 hours bringing total tally in the country to 1962.

“Over the last 24 hours we have tested 1,574 samples of which 74 have tested positive. The total number of positive cases now stands at 1,962,” stated the CAS.

So far, Kenya has tested a total of 78,536 samples cumulatively.

County distribution of the 74 new cases is as follows: Nairobi 35, Mombasa 23, Busia 6, Kiambu 2, Kwale 2, Kajiado 2, Kilifi 1, Uasin Gishu 1, Taita Taveta 1, Laikipia 1.

Recoveries and Deaths

The good news is that 14 patients were discharged bringing the total number of recoveries to 478.

The CAS also noted that one more patient succumbed to the virus and this brings the total fatalities to 64.

He further cautioned people to to mind their behaviors  in order to flatten the infections curve.

“I want to remind us all that the behavior of the infection curve, the trajectory that this curve will take is totally dependent on our behavior as a people,” noted CAS Aman.
