List Of Top 10 Candidates KCPE 2020; Marks Scored, Schools

The top student in the just released Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) scored a 433 marks out of possible 500, Education Ministry Cabinet Secretary (CS) George Magoha has announced.

A total of 1,179,192 candidates sat for the KCPE 2020 national examination, marked across 28,460 examination centres.

590,450 were boys and 588,742 girls.

Mumo Faith from Kari-Mwailu Primary School emerged the best candidate in KCPE 2020 from a public school setting a new trend in KCPE results.

Wesonga Yvette Nanzala from Chogoria Girls and Muriithi Angel Gakenia from Maseno Girls Boarding tied as second students with 432 marks each.

According to the results, public schools outsmarted private schools by dominating the top ten list.

Other top performers include; Njenga Lowell Mwagambo(Emmanuel Springs Academy), Jeff Mutugi(Fred’s Academy) Polycup Kiyondi Ombongi(Ober Boys) and Debrah Zawadi (Emmanuel Springs Academy).

In general, public schools occupied nine slots in the top ten KCPE candidates and 11 in the top 15, leaving private schools with only four slots.

Special Need

Brian Otundo of Set Greenhill Academy topped in the category of special needs student with 420 marks and Kibet Gibson second with 411 marks.

How to Access Results

To access individual results, candidates are required to send their index numbers and the word KCPE to SMS code 20076.

Form One Selection

Form one selection scheduled on May 28, 2021, placement will be done based on merit.
