MoE Issues Directive Affecting KCSE 2020/2021 Candidates Travel Arrangements In 5 Locked Counties

County Commissioners and School Principals will now work hand in hand to see to it that transport arrangements for KCSE 2020 candidates who will be travelling in and out of the five counties are catered for.

In a memo on Friday, the ministry of education instructed all county director of education to work harmoniously with school heads to ensure that students are facilitated to travel after their examinations.

In a bid to make this directive orderly, the ministry of education further instructed that all students who will be traveling must be in their full school uniform and bear a letter of introduction from their respective schools.

Late last month, the head of state directed that movement in and out of five counties that were declared disease infected areas is prohibited till further notice.

The five counties include; Nairobi, Kajiado, Machakos, Kiambu and Nakuru. While giving the directive, president Uhuru Kenyatta noted that the five counties account for 70 percent of the country’s total infections.

At the same time, earlier this month, ministry of education noted that examiners who will participate in the KCSE marking exercise will be given the movement pass to travel to Nairobi and back by their respective county commissioner.

All examiners shall be required to produce an individual National Identification  card ,Short message service(SMS) from Knec and Knec invitation letter  to the county commissioner’s office in order to be issued with travel passes.
