TSC Responds To Case Of Assaulted Ainamoi Secondary School Principal

The Teachers Service Commission has responded to the unfortunate incident where Ainamoi Secondary School Principal Geoffrey Rono was assaulted by a Form 3 student and injured on his head.
In a statement, the teachers’ employer has strongly condemned the incident which occurred on 9th June 2021 at the aforementioned school.
“We condemn this incident, in the strongest terms possible. The Commission is concerned about the rising cases of unwarranted violence towards teachers,” read part of the statement.
TSC further urged all stakeholders to see to it that schools are safe for conducive teaching and learning.
We wish to call upon all stakeholders to do all that is within their means to ensure that schools are safe for conducive learning and teaching. We must all work to stop violence in schools. TSC is determined to ensure that teachers are able to deliver on their duties.
In addition, TSC revealed that the assaulted teacher has already resumed his duties after receiving treatment at a local health facility.
“The Principal was treated at a local health center and discharged and has since resumed his duties,” further read the statement from TSC.
