Tutors Of Tertiary Institutions To Be Vaccinated As State Sets Deadline

Ministry of edsucation has directed all tutors of National Polytechnics, Institutes of Science and Technology, Technical Training Institutes and Technical and Vocational Colleges to take covid 19 jab before 23rd August, 2021.

Cases of teachers who will not have been innoculated by the offorementioned date will be treated as indiscipline.

At the same time, vaccinated teachers have been directed to submit a proof of vaccination to their respective institutions

“This is therefore to direct that all employees in your institution be encouraged to be vaccinated by 23rd August, 2021 and submit a proof of vaccination to the respective institutions by 24th August, 2021,” read part of circular addressing principals of colleges.

In addition, principals of colleges have been instructed to ensure full implementation of this directive.

Recently, Kenya received a further 180,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine in a boost to ongoing vaccination efforts amid increased Covid-19 cases across the country.

The latest consignment, which was a donation from the Greek government, pushes the number of vaccines received in the country to 2,323,100.
Speaking at JKIA after receiving the consignment, National Taskforce on Vaccine Deployment Chair Dr. Willis Akhwale said the donation was a welcome boost to the ongoing vaccination exercise.
